Mexico
Over the past 500 years, Mexico’s Native American heritage has accrued a distinctly Spanish overlay, and the resulting culture is vibrant, colourful and quite unique.
Our UK Travel Managers are Mexican specialists who can introduce you to this amazingly varied country – whether you are interested in visiting its cactus-studded deserts or white sandy beaches, Mexico’s tropical rainforest or jungle-clad hills, snow-capped volcano peaks or the urban bustle of its cities.
Since the Mayan and Aztec civilisations were decimated by the Conquistadors, Mexico has suffered colonial rule, civil war, rebellions, dictatorships, recessions and earthquakes. Yet its people remain warm and friendly, which is very much part of its charm.
The country’s extraordinary history is reflected in the ancient Mayan temples strewn through the jungles, in the romantic ruins of Aztec settlements, Spanish colonial cities and silver mining towns, and an indigenous culture that is still, miraculously, alive,
Besides its unique culture and fascinating cities, Mexico also boasts several hundred miles of beautiful beaches that stretch down its Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Beach resorts such as Acapulco, Cancun and the cities of the Baja California peninsula are perfect holiday havens.
There are 58 National Parks that conserve local fauna and flora, and Mexico boasts the greatest number of bird species in North America. Its marine life is abundant, and the Parque Natural de la Ballena Gris (Grey Whale National Park) is a must for whale watchers.
With so much to see and do, it would take months, if not years, to explore and discover all that this magical country has to offer.

The coast and lowlands are hot and humid all year round. The interior highlands are milder but they can become freezing between December and February. Passport Visa
A visa is not required for entry into Mexico, but you must hold a tourist card (FMT form), which is issued free of charge, obtainable from airlines, Mexican Consulates, Mexican international airports and border crossing points. Please check the rules around visa requirements before you travel, as they may change regularly.
Safety
There is a small but constant risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks in public places and the crime rate is high in Mexico, especially in Mexico City.
